This free, easy-to-use genealogy website features thousands of databases, research tools, and other resources to help those with Jewish ancestry research and find family members.
There are some really useful features, such as pop-ups that indicated the Jewish population of a particular city during 1900 and contact information for people who are looking for a particular surname. Searching is not immediately intuitive but there are online courses to get genealogists started. JewishGen also offers several genealogy courses from the basic, Using JewishGen to Research Ancestral Roots, to the intermediate, Breaking Brick Walls in the U.S., and to the advanced, Independent Study. Course fees range from $36 to $100.
Please note that you have to register with basic contact information to use the database.
