We all know that sea levels are rising. But what will be the effect on Boston and Cambridge if the Charles and the Bay start to flood over? Today’s Boston.com has an interesting interactive feature on just that. The images and maps of flooded areas around Boston were created by Nickolay Lamm, a researcher and artist. Lamm was inspired by the New York Times’ “What Could Disappear” interactive and collaborated with Remik Ziemlinksi from Climate Central. Be sure to look at “What Could Disappear” as there is a section on Cambridge.
Scroll all the way to the bottom to see what Harvard Yard – and as an extension the Cambridge Public Library – may look like if sea levels continue to rise. Just think about all those precious books, manuscripts, and archives that will have to be moved. Terrifying!
